Jimmy Gadafi is passionate about sharing Malaysian culture, hospitality and gastronomy to the people of London. Born in Kuala Lumpur, he grew up in Petaling Jaya surrounded by multicultural atmosphere, food and traditions with his Chindian (Chinese and Indian mixed heritage) mother and Bugis Malay father.
His passion for cooking came from helping his mother and grandmother prepare festive feasts for the family. Seeing the joy that came from serving his family the meals, he knew he wanted to continue to cater for people and bring them happiness through delicious food.
In 2013 he moved to London to pursue a higher education qualification, while working in Malaysian restaurants around the capital, including Pak Awie Paddington, Makan Cafe Notting Hill and Malaysian Deli Brockley.
Using the techniques he learnt from his childhood, as well as the knowledge gained working as a chef, Ahmed is eager to open the doors of Street Hawker to give everyone a taste of true Malayian culture.
